Dan Goin's Santa Fe
Show below is a panarama of the layout. Dan's HO-scale layout is 35' x15', it has a double track main with code 83 track. He uses Hogger power packs for DC operation. It represents the Santa Fe in the late 50’s and early 60’s. No specific town or place is intended. Dan enjoy watching trains pass through scenery and towns. The layout has a hidden return and staging for 6 trains. Average freight train length is 35 cars and passenger trains up to 12 cars.
Here we see the time old tradition of hooping up orders. The hoop stand is a Sequoia kit and the caboose is Ahearn.
The layout is over 20 years old. And as you can see, a crowd has gathered to celebrate the occasion.
The turn table at Burnt Lake has a wiring issue and the line man is looking at the problem. Burnt Lake is a resort station that is reached by rail only. The resort is not modeled on the layout. There is a tourist train modeled after Death Valley Scotty’s famous trip with a Hallmark 2-6-2 loco.
